‘Thorns of the Briar Queen’ launches during Games Workshop’s Skulls for the Skull Throne 4 promotional event on Steam!
May 28th 2020 – Warhammer Underworlds: Online, the high-stakes, turn-based strategy combat game that pits mighty warriors from the Warhammer Age of Sigmar universe against one another, has a new Warband in its roster. Thorns of the Briar Queen becomes the seventh Warband to enter the fray, allowing players to take control of a powerful death mage and her formidable spectral army.
“We’re really excited to see the very first Nightvault Warband enter the game,” said Creative Director, Neil Rennison. “The Briar Queen’s minions are made up of some truly terrifying characters, which include a sadistic Gheist, a headless Chainrasp, and the spectre of a serial murderer. I can’t wait to see players unleashing these undead horrors online!”
The new paid DLC will drop into the game during the Skulls for the Skull Throne event, a weekend-long celebration of Steam games set in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000 universes. Now in its fourth year, the Skulls for the Skull Throne event enables players to enjoy brand new games, limited-time discount offers and even free content.
Neil Rennison follows up: “If you play a game of Warhammer Underworlds: Online across the weekend you will unlock a new Chaos-themed backing design for your card decks! We’re also including a new Khorne-themed playing environment set in the high towers of Shadespire, which has been defiled by murderous cultists.”
Warhammer Underworlds: Online is a premium PC title, normally costing $29.99 USD. It will be reduced by 40% for the Skulls for the Skull Throne event, with the Thorns of the Briar Queen DLC also reduced by 20% (RRP $6.99 USD).
The two-player online game is available to play in English, Russian, French, Italian, German and Spanish. New content is distributed in two ways:
- All players will receive continuous, FREE universal card releases at regular intervals.
- New Warband DLC expansions along with their Warband-specific cards will continue to be released in the coming months for $6.99 USD.
- Future game updates will incorporate rules changes, new board layouts and visual changes to match newly introduced warbands from Nightvault and Beastgrave.
