Recreate five historically accurate Second World War campaigns from each of KARDS main Nations in the digital CCG’s first single-player expansion – available now
June 30th, 2020, Reykjavik, Iceland – Independent developer 1939 Games latest major expansion for its WW2 digital-CCG KARDS is now available as an in-game download. The Theaters of War expansion brings five single-player campaigns to the game, each of which represents some of the most iconic battles of the era. The update includes 40 new cards that unlock as players complete the campaigns, delivering further depth and strategic gameplay. KARDS can be downloaded for free on Steam, with Theaters of War available to purchase in-game for $29.95.
Each of Theaters of War expansion’s five campaigns represents real battles faced by KARDS five lead Nations – Britain, Germany, Japan, USA and The Soviet Union – during WW2. This historical accuracy enables players to reenact these conflicts by either attempting the strategy used at the time or experimenting with their own tactics. Campaigns range from the deserts of the British Tunisian Campaign to the jungle as Japan invades the Philippines. Theatres of War also sees the introduction of upgradeable units. Players can improve these cards between each single-player battle to make them more potent for the duration of the campaign.
Players unlock eight exclusive Theaters of War cards for each of the game’s five Nations as they play through their single-player battles, for a total of 40 cards. Alongside these cards are five special new HQs that match with locations from the campaigns and that transform the playboard. These changes take players from the lush green of the Philippines to snowy Soviet tundra.
Players can download KARDS now for free on Steam with the full Theaters of War expansion including all five campaigns available for $29.95 in-game.
