Project Winter now chilling on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch

Sony and Nintendo gamers can join this frozen world of survival and social deception as they swap a hot summer for the wintery wilderness

September 16th, 2021 – Newfoundland, Canada – Developer Other Ocean Interactive is pleased to announce that its pioneering social deception game, Project Winter, is available now on PlayStation and Nintendo Switch. The eight-person multiplayer world of Project Winter drops players in the freezing wilderness where they are cut off from external communications and surrounded by a thick blanket of paranoia. Stranded in this icy tundra, the team must work together to escape the approaching blizzard as well as the deathly intentions of fellow team members.

The survivors must battle against the freezing elements and the traitors in their midst who will deceive, sabotage, and even murder to thwart their teammates’ efforts to escape. For the players that encounter wild animals or murderous teammates on their travels, there’s a variety of weapons they can use to gain the upper hand and cling desperately to their ever-shrinking chance of survival.

Project Winter’s innovative proximity-based voice chat encourages players to stick together and work in groups to survive,” says director Ryan Hale. “Solo players that wander off run the risk of having their desperate cries for help rendered useless when running into trouble.”

Project Winter is a pioneer in the massively popular social deception game genre combining familiar game mechanics such as crafting and resource gathering with hidden-role gameplay for an intriguing and challenging experience.  The Nintendo Switch and PlayStation releases boast the same features as PC and Xbox versions, including text chat, emotes and proximity voice channels. No matter what platform players are on, the icy and unforgiving wilderness of Project Winter provides a challenge like no other, filled with sabotage, betrayal, murderous teammates and a handful of starving grizzly bears.
